Getting Andrei Blatche as a Naturalized Player, Basketball Camp in Miami, the European tour, and the Dream series against NBA Selection, were all part of a long term Program for the Team Gilas to qualify in 2016 Olympics.
"That's the whole program. That's the entire plan for this team. It's not ending in Incheon. The goal is till 2015 FIBA Asia because there, we want to win the Gold to qualify for the 2016 Olympics," said Coach Chot Reyes.
The National Team of the Philippines was never played in Olympics since 1972 in Munich.
Mr. Manny Pangilinan also wanted to have the Hosting Rights for the 2018 FIBA World Cup. But of course the Gilas must sustain their good performance after winning 2nd Place in 2013 FIBA Asia, which being held in the Philippines.
